- I believe Artistic talent is a 'way' of seeing the world. Talent was ingrained
by various artists influence. Reading about design & the artist's mind.
Always taking note of shape, tone, texture, value............oh it goes on and on.
The following is a personal biography involving various
mediums in the artists world. DO NOT READ if you wish to only
find merit, value, status or grandeur to qualify this artist as she
has passed those tests already. A reader who wishes to get
a little personal history on Sharon may continue.
WARNING: This is a bit lenghty and you could come back for a short concise version later.
- A few background Biography Memories....
My Mom Auriel Corrine MacKenzie
My mother is a fine artist. She creates her art in oils ( a medium you
can have wait for you by placing oils in the freezer while you tend to your 6 kids)
and recently has been exploring other mediums.. I went along with her to her
painting classes a few times before I was three. I remember having some sort of impression,
an emotion really as I was excited for her. For the most part I was annoyed knowing
she could not attend to her artistic side as she was busy scuplting us kids and
playing piano for the church, leading choir, teaching piano....and so on.
I do remember watching her construct and paint murals for plays in the church as well.
Other precious moments taught were to 'see' nature. She talked of the tiny sprouts
bursting forth, a garden pallet of colour and shapes so beautiful, detailed and full
of wonder in God's creation of them. Imagination soared with the magical land of
faeries beneath the fungus, mushrooms and other places to hide.
On the poetic side, Mom would make a riddle/poem treasure hunt for us to find our
Christmas presents. She told us she was tired of us ruining the fun by knowing
what the gift was by shaking, poking, peeking the gift if it was left under the tree.

Music was always a common feature of our home. A few, if not all of the family,
performed 2 to 3 times weekly in Church and other functions relating to the Ministry.
Myself, three sisters, two brothers and both Parents all singing harmonies and taking
on various instruments kept the ears tuned and taught a lot about music. My love for
Blues & Jazz came from the oldest sibling Aubrey (A.J)( who could play almost
any instrument) and listened to Dizzy G, Oscar Peterson, John Coltrane.....
the list will go on and on. HUMOR-U-SONG O GRAMS were created for a season.
selling self written brithday/celebration jingles.As an ENTERTAINMENT CATALYST
at a local Pub, my friend and I would sing in character of theme night
and get the crowds going/participating.
FIRST ATTEMPT at DRAWING
As a child of about 6 years, a young man, who was visiting our home, took the time to
explain how he drew simple line art. He mentioned how you can 'see' the image and
trace it from your mind's eye to the paper. He explained how in reality there are rarely
any straight lines. He drew a person's figure, shapes became clothes, a head and so on.
After his lesson I won 2nd in a poster contest in grade 1
for ' Kami Days'
( A Kamloops Days Celebration).
This was one of the exciting moments in this artist's career.
Grade School
I always excelled in the arts in elementary school. I just didn't work too hard at art is as
I wanted to experience the wild and wonderful social & sports world.
Piano class was ofted for basketball ...etc. I excelled in Graphics ,Art, Music Class & sports.

I am having a biography written for me by my lovely sister Karmen Wale who
has a teaching degree and will edit and smooth out the rough spots.
I do not do well writing about myself professionally and being grammatically proper.
I have no problem vocalizing and writing in poetry and song which is
a bit cheeky of me. I would rather not use 'proper' grammatical form and just let the thoughts flow.
If a person can understand your prose/poetry to the point of knowing where you are coming from
you don't waste either parties time explaining anything further.
You don't having to argue facts or explain who you are and why,,,
that's part of JUST B-ING( the theme behind my business name...).
just be yourself, myself, remember the priorities in life,
love one another,
love yourself,
work hard, play hard,
Life is too short!
There are many causes to be concerend about in this world to sweat the small stuff.

So here I go carrying on in Music, Art, Design, and family.
I hope/aspire to make a living doing what I love.
I was told if you do what you love others will love it too.
